Karni Sena activists landed up on the sets and protested against shooting the film. They not only broke equipment and humiliated the cast and crew, they even slapped director Sanjay Bhansali. In a shocking turn of events, Bhansali was hit by many protesters but is now safe and police has taken control of the situation.

Now, while the whole industry has supported SLB, Lokendra Singh Kalvi, the founder of Rajput Karni Sena has fired a fresh salvo at the filmmaker. Talking to ANI, he said, "Does Bhansali have the nerve to go to Germany and make a fiction film against Hitler? Even when Jodha Akbar was being made I had raised objections as one cannot insult our blood-spattered history."
