Bollywood's pay parity issue: Here's how much the 'Fitoor' co-stars were paid for the film!
Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur were paid equal amounts for the movie.
Next week’s big release Fitoor seems to have solved the pay-parity issue. Apparently, both Katrina and Aditya were paid Rs 4 crore each for the film.
Says a source, “Katrina is senior to Aditya Roy Kapur. So it was felt she should be paid on par with Adi. In fact, the actor should have been paid much less. Since he is producer Siddharth Roy Kapur’s brother, he got the kind of money that he wouldn’t have otherwise demanded and got.”
The Fitoor director, Abhishek Kapoor has been paid more than what his lead pair was paid: Rs 10 crore!
Says a trade insider, “Wonder what qualified Abhishek for the Rs 10 crore fee that he has demanded and got for Fitoor. Rock On!! and Kai Po Che were hardly the kind of raging successes that would justify that kind of remuneration.”
