“It’s the kids and my family who make the day so special for me. The kids usually gift me hand-made cards which I think are the best gifts a mum could ever get,” she shares excitedly over the phone.

Last year around, the actor had a surprise party thrown by some close friends and she says that she’s looking forward to what the day brings ahead today.

“As of now, we’re planning to have a family dinner to celebrate it.” Needless to say, the actress will be inundated with calls all day long from her friends here in the city, but she reveals that not many are from Bollywood.

“I don’t have too many friends of the kind who’ve kept in touch, but it’s a different story on my visit to Mumbai. Then Bollywood feels like family and I'm so grateful for that,” she says.

So, is Bollywood on her birthday wish-list? “Not really. Why only on birthdays, films are always on my wish-list,” she laughs. So, when are we seeing her on the big screen.

“Hopefully soon. As of now we are working out dates for my next trip to Mumbai for my small screen venture. But nothing on the big screen yet.”

Looking back at her journey so far, she says there are no regrets.

“I look back at the way I’ve lived my life with a lot of pride. I did the kind of work I enjoyed, won fans, met the right man, d I married and had kids — It’s been a fulfilling life and I’m proud that it was all on my terms,” she smiles.
