So what if he doesn’t manage to get Bella’s love and just her affection, Hollywood actor Taylor Lautner has managed to capture the imagination of women across the world, even if he’s just 19 as the werewolf in the Twilight film series.

However, it’s another teenage ‘werewolf’ who’s on his agenda — an Indian boy called Pruthviraj Patil. Patil is one of about 50 people in the world who suffers from Hypertrichosis, a rare genetic condition known as ‘Werewolf Syndrome’ where the face and body is covered in thick, matted hair. Taylor says that he still treasures his hush-hush visit to India to meet the boy and pay for his treatment.

“My most unforgettable Indian memory has to be when I visited the 13-year-old ‘werewolf’ boy suffering from Hypertrichosis. I read about it in a tabloid and wanted to remain anonymous about helping the boy, but the guy was so happy he told everyone right after my visit to India,” recalls Taylor.

Taylor also admits that charity for children is something that is dear to his heart and he would love to take it up for India. “In the States, I’m associated with The Lollipop Theatre Network, a children’s charity,” he says.

While talking Bollywood, the teenage heartthrob admits that a Bollywood role would be an ideal deviation from his werewolf roles. “I have not yet had the chance to see an Indian film, but would love to see one. Have heard a lot about Bollywood, the songs, dances and the colours,” he says.

Even though he is turning into an action hero in the film Abduction, Taylor doesn’t rule out turning a filmmaker someday. “I’ve always been super-interested in all aspects of film. Ever since I was in video production class in high school, it was a dream of mine to be involved in movie-making, not only in front of the camera, but behind the camera as well,” he adds.

Being an action hero at the age of 19 can be emotionally challenging, admits Taylor. “When I read the original script, the story was just so, I read it like a book. I could just not stop turning the pages… It was a challenging role for me and that’s what I wanted to do next,” he said.
