A movie in India which has best described sports for women, was Shah Rukh Khan's Chak De India, which focused on women playing the sport of hockey. Vijay's movie Bigil, which is about a team of women playing the sport of football, and him coaching them, could prove to be tough competition to Chak De India.

While Chak De India was the story of coach Kabir Khan who craved for respect and earned it, Bigil is the story of Vijay and his three shades. The actor plays the role of Rayappan and Michael, who has adapted a more popular name 'Bigil'. Rayappan is a rowdy, who has no qualms in killing. He ensures that people are scared of him. Michael is a decent-looking guy who is equally dangerous. He does not command respect, but he does not accept people poking their nose in his business either. Michael, too, is not afraid of taking a few lives.

Bigil, on the other hand, is a legend who is worshipped in the minds of some people, including the character played by Jackie Shroff. Bigil's character is still kept a mystery. He was a football star, who is now a coach to women's football team. The women, however, fear him. They call him a rowdy. In fact Bigil is introudced as a bully who asks his team member to speak loud enough, thrice. Bigil might be hated among the team members, much like Kabir Khan was hated in Chak De India, but similarly, Bigil gains the trust of every woman in the team and they surrender to his training methods.

Bigil aka Michael has a love life too. He is seen as a romantic person who has found love in Angel, played by female actor Nayanthara. The trailer also features a tagline - dedicated to all women, thus hinting that the film is all about women empowerment. While Vijay takes most limelight, the women in the trailer also show some muscle proving they are more than just another female which the society considers weak. After tough training, Bigil prepares his women team. The best part takes places when the character of Rayappan also pretends to be a pro at football, and ends up adjusting his dhoti.

Although Vijay has most magic with his football and acting skills in the trailer, DOP G K Vishnu and editor Ruben have done a fairly good job too. A.R. Rahman's music appears to be promising, and as usual, mesmerizing. Sound engineer Tapas Nayak has kept the audiography subtle. It is not too loud and hits just the right spot as it should in an action film, at least in the trailer.

All in all, Vijay's movie is all about strength, violence and power packed with drama, romance and lots of action. By the looks of the trailer, this movie is the perfect Diwali gift for everyone. P.S: Do not miss watching the scene after end credits. It might take you back in time, or bring a smile on your face.
