According to The Hollywood Reporter, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jake Gyllenhaal are in talks to star in a Studiocanal financed feature, ?Rio?.

Director Luca Guadagnino is directing from a script by ?Peaky Blinders? creator Steven Knight.

The story centers on a reporter (Gyllenhaal) who travels to Brazil to visit a wealthy friend (Cumberbatch), who asks for help in faking his death.

Gyllenhaal and Cumberbatch are both set to produce via their banners, Nine Stories Productions and Sunny March, respectively.

Studiocanal is planning to present the project to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival, where Gyllenhaal's most recent feature, Bong Joon-ho's ?Okja,? is premiering.

On the work front, Jake Gyllenhaal will be seen in Paul Dano's directorial debut ?Wildlife,? while Benedict Cumberbatch will be seen in The Weinstein Company?s ?The Current War,? where he will play Thomas Edison opposite Nicholas Hoult's Nikola Tesla.
