While music maestro Ilaiyaraaja scored the music for the film in Tamil, it looks like Bejoy Nambiar will once again be using several different music directors in this Hindi remake. One of the musicians who have been signed on from the south is Govind Menon from the band Thaikkudum Bridge. Bejoy had stated to the media earlier that he will re-visit the original score in his modern version of the film.

According to sources, work on the movie is likely to start in July. Harshvadhan Rane and Vicky Kaushal have been signed on for this film. As of now, there is no news on their characters but Harshvardhan is perhaps more suited for Karthik's role while Vicky is more suitable for Prabhu's role. Sources also reveal that the actresses have not been signed on for the film through the filmmakers have short-listed a few. In the original movie, Karthik and Prabhu play half-brothers and the roles in the film are different but intense. Similarly, the leading ladies also play an important role in the movie.
