Audience-favourite Colors' 'Balika Vadhu' might soon go off-air, according to a report by an entertainment portal.

Balika Vadhu is the longest running show on Indian television. The show was launched in 2008 and has crossed more than 2000 episodes till now.

However, according to the report, this long run might come to an end soon. The report says that the makers of the show, Sphere Origin are now planning to come up with a new show which will replace Balika Vadhu. The new show is still in its early stages with the plot line and title still being discussed.  

Balika Vadhu gave actress Avika Gor who debuted on the show as a child actor. The show is set in rural Rajasthan and revolves around the regressive practices carried out in our country. It mainly focused on child marriages in its initial episodes. 

Popular actors like Pratyusha Banerjee, Shashank Vyas, Sidharth Shukla, Toral Rasputra have been a part of this show over the years.
