Actor Ayaan Ahmad may be down with the flu, but there is no space for dampened spirits. Instead, he’s quite excited about the release of his first film — Ada… A Way of Life, a film that was stuck in the cans for over a year. However, the reason behind the delay is quite novel and the wait, according to Ayaan, has been more than worth it.

“Our film was stalled once it got to the background score stage. We wanted AR Rahman to do the background score. This was around that time Slumdog Millionaire hit the screens. The Oscars happened, and then he got busy with work in LA. He did recommend other musicians for our job, but we decided to wait for him because the drama in our film has great scope of background music and only he could do justice to it,” says Ayaan.

 While Ayaan is the lead actor, his father Tanvir Ahmad has directed the film and brother Kazaan Ahmad fills in as producer. Ayaan says, “There’s also my sister Ayesha who is the choreographer. It’s more or less a family business, I just hope it is a successful one.” Ayaan’s next course of action is, of course, directing. “I think it is easier when you are working with your family since they are aware of your strengths and weaknesses, and will therefore work accordingly,” says Ayaan
