Avril Lavigne is set to launch her own fashion line in partnership with a top American retailer. The singer will work with Kohl’s Corp on a junior collection called Abbey Dawn which is aimed at aspiring rock star teens. The collection will be sold in all 958 Kohl stores in July ready for the back-to-school rush.

Avril, who is a popular role model for teenagers, joins a growing list of musicians who have launched their own fashion lines, ranging from Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Lopez to Justin Timberlake, Jessica Simpson and Beyoncé Knowles. “Avril is very involved in everything from design to all the production,” said Michelle Roback, a sales executive with Jerry Leigh, the licensing company involved in the new venture.

“We looked at her closet, she worked with our design team, shopped the stores, and we came up with a trend forecast with her.”
