In these new stories, Rowling took us on the journey of magical world on the other side of the pond. These stories were released as a tie-in for the new movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The movie is based on Rowling's book of the same name and is slated to release on November 18 this year.

These stories based in North America are -

1. The US Hogwarts, Ilvermorny

2. Skin-walkers, a Native American legend

3.The Salem witch trials, a formative event for the country’s national magical identity

4. Our Ministry of Magic, the Magical Congress of the United States of America

On Tuesday, Pottermore, the interactive web portal for Harry Potter fans, released a video introducing the first story in the new series. It tells you how it started with a little Irish girl Isolt Sayre and a stolen wand. The video promises a story of love, revenge, and weathering tough times and fights.

Also, just like Hogwarts houses, Harry Potter fans can get sorted in the houses of Ilvermony School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. On Pottermore, you can actually find out that out of Horned Serpent, Wampus, Thunderbird, and Pukwudgie which house you belong to.

These four new stories fill in the gap of time in the magical history before the events of Fantastic Beasts took place. JK Rowling faced flak from Native Americans after the stories came out, accusing her of cultural appropriation.

All the stories are available to read on Pottermore. So what are you waiting for? Get your fix of wizardry and all things magical. Who knows, maybe your letter was supposed to come from Ilvermorny and not Hogwarts!
