Munnabhai fame actor Arshad Warsi on Sunday said he has no interest in politics or in contesting elections but that his moral support is with Sanjay Dutt, who is reportedly planning to contest the Lok Sabha election from Lucknow.

Talking to a group of reporters at the Deolali Camp-based Barnes School, started in 1925, where Warsi was a student from Std VI to X, the actor said the political system is bad and corrupt, but people can change it through the ballot box.

Asked if he would also enter politics like Munnabhai alias Sanjay Dutt, Warsi said he had no interest in politics and would not campaign for Dutt, but "Sanjay is my good friend and I will give him moral support".

He said actors and politicians are different and film stars cannot make a difference by entering politics as has been seen from various instances in the past.

Referring to the pub attack in Mangalore last week, Warsi asked why, when some activists were beating up people, including women, the others in the pub did not take them on.

Speaking about the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, he said, "If the people in the hotels and at CST had beaten up or overpowered them [the terrorists], the problem could have been solved immediately, but such things are not happening."

In Mumbai, he said the police force is understaffed and has no proper infrastructure and technology to tackle such attacks. "How can they control it?" he said.

Warsi said that Mahatma Gandhi returned today, he would not be able to do much in the present situation. The British rulers enjoyed during the Raj and Raj-era laws are benefiting today's politicians, he said.

Asked about life in the film industry, he said, "It is glamerous and I am using it as an office and not mixing it into my home."

Warsi, who become famous as 'Circuit' in the Munnabhai films, remembered his school days with fondness. "Boarding school taught me the value of people and lifestyle," he said. The actor was in Deolali Camp to attend the school's foundation day on Sunday.
