While actor Sonam Kapoor, who is his cousin, has been rooting for him, not many know about how Arjun bagged the film. A source reveals, “Yash Chopra’s casting director Shanoo Sharma came across Arjun’s profile on FB and immediately decided to meet him. At that time, no one knew that Arjun was Boney’s son. They wanted to meet him because they were looking for somebody who could look rustic and rugged but could portray emotions very well at the same time. Once they met Arjun, they were sure that they wanted no one else but Arjun for this film. Despite being sure they wanted him, he was put through a regular audition process and after a couple of look tests they finally decided to cast him.”

The young actor, who recently lost his mother, producer Mona Kapoor to cancer has not let the personal loss affect him professionally and now, he is working doubly hard to ensure that he fulfills his mother’s dream of seeing him on the big screen. From trending on micro-blogging site Twitter when the promos released, to being cast through FB, Arjun seems to have a lucky streak with social-networking sites.
