Annie Gill who is playing Rano in Anamika will no longer be the main protagonist of the show.

Instead a new character Chhavi played by Shivani Surve is being introduced. Annie’s character will be shown dead in the serial and the reason, according to sources is that the makers are not very happy with her. “Simran Kaur who is playing the witch Anamika is performing very well but Annie couldn’t match up to her,” addzw        s the source.

However, Annie denies it completely. “I will be very much around. In fact the story will be told from my perspective now,” she says. While she agrees that a new girl will be entering the show, she insists she will be seen in almost every frame of the show! The love story between Jeet (Mudit Nayar) and Rano will take a twist. Though dead, Rano will be appearing in Chhavi’s dreams and tell her about Jeet’s past, thus making way for romance between Jeet and Chhavi, adds the source.

Shivani has earlier been seen in serials like Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and Phulwa. She played the title role in the Marathi serial Devyani, but quit mid-way. Says Shivani, “I was shooting day and night for the serial. I needed rest but they thought I was throwing tantrums, so I quit the show.” About her role in Anamika, which will see her playing a lead role first time in a Hindi serial, Shivani says after her outing as a mature bahu in Devyani, she wanted to play a cute and bubbly girl. And unlike Rano, her character Chhavi will be shown fearless and pragmatic. “That’s what I liked about her, lets see how it shapes up,” she says.
