He is the director of Piku which has bagged Amitabh Bachchan his fourth National Award. Director Shoojit Sircar is happy that Amitabh Bachchan has won the National Award for Best Actor at the 63rd National awards which were announced on Monday morning.

Shoojit was all smiles as he told India Today TV that he knew that Amitabh Bachchan would receive accolades for the role of the cranky, constipated, elderly father of Deepika Padukone in the film.

When asked about the winners for Best Actress - Kangana Ranaut and Best Film - Baahubali, Shoojit replied that all those who had won the 63rd National Awards were truly deserving of it.

Shoojit Sircar had told media earlier that he had never thought that Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika would agree to do the film. His movie was about the beautiful relationship between a father and daughter, he said.

Shoojit is working with Amitabh Bachchan again in another film currently. "The film is titled Pink and is directed by Bengali filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. This is Aniruddha's first Hindi film."

When asked how much he attributed Big B's National Award for Best Actor to himself, Shoojit said, "I am a part of this. When anyone who wins from a film, the director and writer become part of the win."
