Previously, the last 4 months had many surprise hits and some major misses. Coming to figures, there was not even one film to boast about. With a box office drought prevailing over the first four months at the box office, Gabbar is Back will probably break Roy's opening record of around Rs 10.40 crore. Looking at the current prospects, the film might have an opening in the range of Rs 12-15 crore but it might shoot up if the evening shows see some more growth at the ticket windows.

Another masala entertainer of sorts, Gabbar is Back has Akshay playing the leader of a vigilante group working towards putting an end to corruption in the country. Akshay's stellar act might fetch him some rave reviews but the film is a major letdown, courtesy a half baked plot, an irritating Shruti Haasan and shoddy screenplay.

Yet, most action entertainers, despite being mindless have usually managed to get in good numbers. Will Gabbar also follow the Rowdy Rathore way? That only time will tell!
