Saturday Saturday (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania) hitmaker Akriti Kakar has been releasing indie singles apart from mash-ups on her social media under her ‘You Choose I Sing’ posts. But her newest track, Saajna, is more special for her as she has collaborated with the famed Indipop band Euphoria on it. “It’s been a huge tick off my bucket list,” the songstress says excitedly, “I’ve known Palash Sen sir for a few years now and he has always always been so kind, generous and real. I’ve also been a huge fan of their work forever.” So, when the band’s frontman called her up to sing, she jumped at the opportunity.

However, what makes the song even more special is the fact that she has talking portions in it. “Palash sir thought that my talking voice would be perfect for the feel he wanted in the song. And I was clueless because I hadn’t done that ever before.”

The vocalist, who recently released a medley of Soch (Hardy Sandhu), Sakhiyaan (Maninder Buttar) and Sochna Sake (Airlift) on her social media, says that she trusted his conviction, felt the lyrics and spoke her heart out spontaneously. “I’ve choked with emotions each time I hear the song and watch the video. I feel really blessed to finally fulfill my wish of ‘working with Euphoria, the makers of Maeri and more’,” concludes the artiste about the number that released on Zee5 recently.
