Actress Kajol has always remained a fan of superheroes and like most other kids, she has always doted on Superman since her childhood.
“I have always loved Superman. I always used to read his (comic) books when I was a child. He is my favourite superhero,” says Kajol matter-of-factly.
At a time, when she is supposed to go ga-ga over Ajay Devgn playing a superhero, Kajol says that he wouldn’t be able to match Superman ever.
“They (Superman, Batman, etc) are eternal classics. Nobody can beat them, not even Ajay who plays a superhero,” she adds. Kajol says that she was also a huge fan of Phantom other than Superman. Kajol is also aware of the Indian superheroes. “I also used to read Tinkle and Bahadur comics. I loved reading them equally.” According to Kajol, what makes the superheroes such a hit is the fact that everybody can connect with them and they too have weaknesses like humans.
“Only thing is Superman is not real. I feel viewers need to identify with the superhero. He has to be real and humane. He has to have his own weaknesses,” the actor adds.
Kajol also reiterates that this is just a matter of choice that she and Ajay are being seen on the big screen after a long time. According to Kajol, she rejects most of the scripts bought to her by Ajay as ‘boring’.
“Whenever Ajay feels that there’s a workable script for us, I end up feeling that it is too boring and finally end up rejecting it,” she ends. Ajay and Kajol were last seen together three years ago in his directorial debut U Me aur Hum.
