Ever since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan threw caution to the wind and wore purple lipstick at Cannes 2016, the Internet went crazy. While some applauded her for her bold choice, others trolled her asking if she had kissed a Smurf before coming to the red carpet!
The Sarbjit actress, whose been getting rave reviews by everyone who has seen the film at the premiere, has reiterated that her fashion choices do not determine her as an actor and she has finally broken her silence over the entire episode.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, she said, "I had fun with it. It's interesting and evoked all kinds of responses, and art does that. And I have said this not now in the context of ‘Purple Lips’, but I have maintained this over the years about the red carpet or creatives."
She also said that fashion experiments sometimes "wow" everyone while at other times, they don't and she was completely okay with that. As she put it, "It’s really not my fulcrum of existence and I have enjoyed it."
