Aishwarya Rai Bachchan makes royal comeback to the ramp for Manish Malhotra at AICW 2015
The actress was walking the ramp after five years.
Amazon India Couture Week 2015 drew to an end with Manish Malhotra's limited edition couture soiree collection. Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the ramp as showstopper for Malhotra's collection, after a gap of five years.
The show marked the completion of 25 years in the fashion industry for Malhotra. The event also marked 10 years of Malhotra's fashion label.
“I have known him (Manish) from very long. He was with me right from the beginning when I started my journey so it is certainly a proud moment for me to walk for him as a showstopper. I have viral but I had to be here as I always liked his collection. Its so special,” Aishwarya Rai told IANS.
The former model looked resplendent in a chocolate brown floor length gown.
The couture soiree is a preview of the limited edition collection for his London label.
In a statement made prior to the unveiling of the collection, Manish had said he was bringing back the old world charm of the 1950s "when western fashion was being revolutionised and fashion shows had a sense of an intimate experience and luxury.”
The collection is titled 'The Empress Story'.
The show was attended by the who's who of Bollywood including Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. Kriti Sanon, Sophie Choudry, Aditi Rao Hydari and Vijender Singh were also seen in the audience.
