After three drama-filled films, Taapsee Pannu is headed down the ha-ha route. Her three upcoming releases are David Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 with Varun Dhawan. Prakash Raj’s Tadka starring Nana Patekar and Ali Fazal and ad maker-turned director Aleya Sen Sharma’s Makhna co-starring Saqib Saleem — all light-hearted affairs.

It’s a return of sorts to the genre. She debuted with Chashme Baddoor, followed it up with espionage actioner baby, the intense Pink, a special appearance in Ghazi Attack and lastly, a full-fledged author backed role in Naam Shabana, a prequel to Baby. The only other comedy she did was Running Shaadi, which was pretty much a blink-and-miss release.

Says Taapsee, “For those who wondered why I wasn’t smiling much in Naam Shabana and Pink then well, I am diving deep into lots of fun, laughter and smiles with these three films.”
