Puli didn’t fare well at the box office unfortunately for Vijay and the producers. Sridevi was rumoured to have been paid a whopping Rs 5 core for the role in the film.

It looks like the producers still owe Sridevi Rs 50 lakhs for the film. She has now reportedly filed a complaint at the Mumbai Producers' Council which in turn has been referred to the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council.

The producers of Puli got into trouble with the Income Tax department when their houses and offices were raided (along with actor Vijay’s) a day before the release of the film. It was widely reported that their bank accounts were frozen and financial dealings put on hold. This could possibly be the reason why Sridevi also has not received full payment.

Meanwhile, producer Shibu Thameens who is in the hospital for a surgery has tweeted that he will sort the money issue with Sridevi.
