Sunday afternoon spead an attack among people from Bengal. An account, which appeared to be that of renowned Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta, claimed that Victor Banerjee, who appeared in Hindi movies like Barfi, A Passage to India, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Bhoot and Gunday among other movies, was no more.

Clarifying that the account which posted the news of Victor Banerjee's hoax death on Facebook was not his own, Jisshu Sengupta took to Twitter and wrote, "This is not me. It’s a fake account. Please don’t believe anything that’s written from any social media accounts that are not verified under my name."

Right after Jisshu's tweet, Banerjee's family members confirmed that is alive. His daughter Keya Banerjee informed that her father is fine and busy shooting. Banerjee was last in news over his Assamese film Kanchanjangha which is slated to release in theatres soon.

Apart from Hindi, Bengali and Assamese films, Victor Banerjee has also appeared in English films. He has worked with some well-known filmmakers like Roman Polanski, James Ivory, Sir David Lean (A Passage to India), Jerry London, Ronald Neame, Satyajit Ray(Ghare Baire), Mrinal Sen, Shyam Benegal, Montazur Rahman Akbar and Ram Gopal Varma.
