The event is scheduled to take place at 8 am this morning. Says Roopkumar, “Singing Jana Gana Mana to set a world record is a befitting and rousing way to commemorate its 100th year. Sonali and I are delighted and humbled that we will be part of the record-setting attempt. It will be our small tribute to the great composition of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.” The Jana Gana Mana was first sung at the Calcutta Session of the Indian National Congress on 27 December 1911.
