AR Rahman has reportedly decided to postpone his concert in Colombo after anti-Sri Lanka groups protested in front of his house in Chennai. The maestro was scheduled to perform in Colombo for the first time on April 23. The NewsMinute reported that pro-Tamil posters were plastered outside Rahman's house and some of the protestors questioned how he could collaborate with the Sri Lankan government that had killed many Tamils.

The NewsMinute said it contacted the organisers of the concert, HALS Studios, who said that the concert was postponed because of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year holidays. The studioe also said that reports suggesting the concert was postponed because of the protests were a rumour. 

Rahman recently had shows in Madurai and Coimbatore, where he performed for the first time, and in Chennai. The shows had a packed audience and there was a big demand for tickets. Many celebrities attended these concerts as well. 

The show in Colombo was to have Rahman performing along with 19 male and female singers. There is no update on when it will is likely to happen now.

Rahman will be performing live in Malaysia on May 4.
