On Tuesday, rumours of veteran Indian film and television actor Mukesh Khanna’s death shocked many. Social media posts regarding the Khanna’s death started popping up.
Naturally, this concerned the relatives and friends of the ‘Shaktimaan’ actor, whose elder brother Satish Khanna passed away last month after suffering a heart attack post COVID-related complications. The actor then took to social media quash and condemn the rumours.

Rumours about veteran star Mukesh Khanna's death started doing rounds on social media on Tuesday (May 10) evening. However, there was no official clarification from the actor's family.
By Tuesday night, it turned out that the apparent news regarding Mukesh Khanna's death were fake and the actor was completely fit and fine.
Mukesh Khanna took to Facebook and posted a video clarifying that he is ‘perfectly alright’.
"With your blessings, I am completely healthy and safe. I don’t have COVID-19 and I was not admitted to any hospital. I don’t know who created this rumour and I don’t know what is the intention of those who spread such rumours. They tamper with people's emotions with such false news. What should be the treatment for such mentally unstable people? Who will punish their misdeeds? Enough is enough. Now it is too much. There should be a stop on such fake news," the veteran actor wrote in a post along with a video.
The actor became a household name in the late 90s with Doordarshan’s hit show 'Shaktimaan'. Khanna is also known for his portrayal of Bhishma Pitamaha in BR Chopra's serial ‘Mahabharat'. Khanna has also acted in films such as 'Hera Pheri' and 'International Khiladi'.
The founder and director of MK films, Khanna is an avid social media user and posts regularly. He also regularly uploads videos on his YouTube channel ‘Bheeshm International’. In March, the actor got his COVID-19 vaccination and posted photos and videos of the same on his Instagram account.
