Aamir Khan's portrayal of an alien questioning religious dogmas in PK led to widespread protests. Religious groups accused the film of mocking Hindu beliefs and rituals, resulting in calls for bans and vandalism of theaters. 

Originally titled Padmavati, this Sanjay Leela Bhansali epic faced severe backlash from Rajput groups who claimed it distorted historical facts and disrespected their queen. The film's release was delayed, and the title was changed amidst threats and violent protests.

A satirical take on organised religion, Oh My God faced legal challenges and protests for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The film questioned the commercialisation of faith, leading to debates about freedom of expression versus respect for beliefs. 

Portraying historical conflicts between Maratha leader Sambhaji and Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, Chhaava reignited communal tensions. Critics accused it of historical inaccuracies and inciting hatred, leading to lawsuits and political condemnation.
