From Varisu to Adipurush, here are six films that are set to clash at the box office during the Sankranti and Pongal weekend next year.
The Sankranti and Pongal weekend is considered an auspicious time for film releases in South India and hence, as many as six films are set to clash during the festive weekend in January 2023. Check out the list below. (All images: Twitter)
1. Varisu

The makers of Varisu released the new poster of Thalapathy Vijay's next film on Diwali. The latest poster confirmed that Varisu will release during the Pongal weekend in January.
2. Adipurush

Based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, Prabhas starrer Adipurush is set for a worldwide theatrical release on January 12. Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon play Raavan and Sita respectively.
3. Thunivu

Ajith Kumar's next actioner Thunivu will also probably release during the same weekend. The special poster with the release date is expected to come next week.
4. Waltair Veerayya

The makers of the Chiranjeevi starrer actioner revealed the title, Waltair Veerayya, of the Mega Star's next film on Diwali with the release date as Sankranti 2023.
5. Veera Simha Reddy

The Telugu language comedy drama Veera Simha Reddy is Nandamuri Balakrishna's 107th film and will release during the same festive weekend.
6. Agent

The Telugu language spy thriller film titled Agent starring Akhil Akkineni and the Malayalam superstar Mammootty is also set to release in the Pongal weekend.
