Bipasha Basu has been vocal about facing discrimination due to her skin tone since childhood. She shared that during her modelling days, media often highlighted her complexion over her achievements, referring to her as the 'dark girl of Kolkata.'

Priyanka Chopra has openly discussed experiencing racism during her schooling in the U.S., where she was called derogatory names like 'brownie.' She also expressed regret over endorsing fairness creams early in her career, acknowledging the negative impact of such products on societal beauty standards. 

Nandita Das has been a prominent advocate against colourism, leading the 'Dark is Beautiful' campaign. She has highlighted the challenges faced by dark-skinned individuals in the film industry, emphasising the need to celebrate all skin tones. 

Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, took to social media to share her experiences with colourism. She revealed being called 'ugly' due to her skin tone since the age of 12 and emphasised the need to end colourism, encouraging others to embrace their natural skin color. 

Radhika Apte has addressed issues of racism and colourism, sharing her experiences of facing discrimination based on her skin color. She has also supported fellow actress Tannishtha Chatterjee when she was subjected to racist remarks on a television show, condemning such behaviour and advocating for change. 

Chitrangada Singh revealed that she lost out on a modelling assignment because of her skin colour. To go against the norm of colourism, she also uploaded pictures of herself and wrote, 'brown and happy.' She has never endorsed fairness creams as she believes it leads to discrimination based on colour.

Malaika Arora has spoken up about the colourism prevalent in the industry. She believes that the idea that white is superior is ingrained in people’s psyche, and the battle against that mentality is a long-drawn one. She emphasises that women should accept their skin colour and flaunt it.
