Soundarya and Vishagan got engaged in a private family ceremony last year
South superstar Rajinikanth's younger daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth and her fiance Vishagan Vanangamudi's wedding celebrations kicked off on February 8 with a pre-wedding reception at Chennai's Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam (which is owned by Rajinikanth) in Kodambakkam. A private event, it had only family members and close friends in attendance.
From cocktail parties to exclusive receptions for the industry biggies, the weekend is expected to be a lavish affair. The couple will tie the knot on February 11, Monday, in an intimate affair at The Leela Palace in MRC Nagar, Chennai.

1. Soundarya Rajinikanth and Vishagan Vanangamudi's pre-wedding reception

Soundarya Rajinikanth looked pretty in a blue and gold silk saree while Vishagan donned a plain white shirt and a traditional veshti (South Indian dhoti). Rajinikanth kept it simple in a white kurta and pyjama. Soundarya's mother Latha and sister Aishwaryaa twinned in green sarees.
2. This is both Soundarya and Vishagan's second marriage

Soundarya was previously married to industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar (2010 - 2017). She has a son with Ashwin, named Ved Krishna, who lives with her. Vishagan, on the other hand, was married to magazine editor Kanikha Kumaran.
A close source to both Soundarya and Vishagan had earlier told Deccan Chronicle, "It is not a love marriage. Soundarya and Vishagan have not known each other before and it was the groom’s aunt who initiated the alliance. And when the Rajini’s family gave the green signal, Soundarya met Vishagan at a coffee shop for a casual conversation.”
3. Vishagan is a businessman

Vishagan is the executive director of Apex Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in India. He made his acting debut last year in a Tamil film, 'Vanjagar Ulagam'.
4. Soundarya will make for one stunning bride

Earlier this week, in a Twitter post, Soundarya confirmed her wedding to Vishagan Vanangamudi, an actor-industrialist. She shared a photo of herself dressed in a traditional outfit and wrote, "One week to go. Bride mode. Ved Vishagan Soundarya."

5. Dhanush spotted outside the reception venue

Soundarya's brother-in-law Dhanush also attended the ceremony. In a humble gesture, the Rajinikanth family gave away plant samplings as a return gift to their guests.
