‘My mom’s favourite…’: Janhvi Kapoor remembers Sridevi while making her mark at Cannes 2025

Janhvi graced the red carpet in a blush pink ensemble designed by Tarun Tahiliani, featuring a corset and voluminous skirt crafted from handwoven fabric with an uncut hem, symbolizing authenticity.

The outfit was complemented by layered pearl necklaces, floral earrings, and a sleek low bun, evoking Sridevi's timeless elegance. This look was widely interpreted as a homage to her mother's iconic style.

In an emotional reflection, Janhvi shared, “We are back in Cannes. My dad and Khushi are with me... It is weird coming back here without her and especially because she always took me to her big moments. I miss her a lot." 

For the premiere of her film Homebound, Janhvi donned a custom Anamika Khanna creation in a pistachio green hue. The gown featured a sculpted antique gold corset bodice adorned with intricate jaal, aari, and zardozi embroidery, complemented by sparkly sequins and delicate beadwork. Janhvi's ensemble was elevated with traditional Indian jewelry, including a jade necklace that elegantly cascaded down her back, adding a regal touch.

For the press event of her film Homebound, Janhvi wore a classic black slub silk dress by Christian Dior, originally designed in 1957. The dress featured a softly curved neckline and a form-fitting, sleeveless silhouette that exuded timeless elegance.

A delicate vintage silver brooch adorned the center of the chest, adding a subtle touch of sparkle. Long black velvet gloves complemented the ensemble, enhancing its old Hollywood glamour. To maintain the focus on the vintage couture, Janhvi kept her accessories minimal, opting for classic diamond stud earrings. Her hair was styled in a sleek, structured bun, and she completed the look with bold winged eyeliner, giving the ensemble a polished and emotive finish.
