Stunning American singer-songwriter Katy Perry arrived in Mumbai earlier today for her first-ever concert to be held in the city. Earlier sharing her excitement, she had said in a statement, "I am extremely happy to be back in India! It’s been far too long, and you all have waited for so long! I’ve taken that into account and the OnePlus Music Festival is going to be a feast for your eyes, your ears and we will make it a night to remember!!"
Today, ahead of her concert, Katy Perry attended a press conference in Mumbai and she was joined by Jacqueline Fernandez. At the event, the 'Roar' singer shared about visiting the country after seven long years and how she is looking forward to walking on the busy streets of Mumbai and enjoy the culture of the city.

1. Katy Perry saves herself from wardrobe malfunction

At the press conference held in Mumbai, Katy Perry opted for a cute doll look. She wore a pink short dress with yellow polka dots all over it and balloon sleeves. She paired it up with furry strappy heels and tied her hair in a high ponytail.
After arriving at the event, when Katy sat down, her panties were slightly visible as her dress was too short. However, Katy immediately realised and placed her hand on the lap which saved her from more wardrobe malfunction.

As the event ended, Katy posed with Jacqueline Fernadez. The Kick actor like a perfect host taught Katy to do Namaste and they posed for the shutterbugs with all smiles.

Sharing her excitement of performing in Mumbai for the first time, the 'Roar' singer said in a statement, "I am so happy to be returning to India and excited to headline my first-ever performance in Mumbai. I am looking forward to seeing and singing with all of my Indian KatyCats at the OnePlus Music Festival."

Earlier during an interaction with Rolling Stone India, when Katy was asked her reaction on being approached to perform in India, she stated, "I’m always looking for opportunities to see fans around the world, especially in places that I don’t get to tour regularly. When OnePlus came to me with the idea for this festival, it was an easy yes, and about time I got back to India."

Katy further shared details about the concert to the magazine by saying, "It’s been a moment since I’ve been there [India], so I’m excited to play some new songs, and bring some new magic to the stage, specifically for my Indian KatyCats on this night. I’m excited to put on a great show for my most patient Indian fans."

The 'Teenage Dream' singer revealed her to-do-list when in Mumbai. She said, "I’ve always wanted to visit Mumbai, and I’m excited to spend some time exploring, immersing, and eating all things local."

Today, at the press conference, Katy shared about watching other artists' performances as well. She stated, "I am excited to watch some of the other people performing."
She further said, "I am excited to immerse myself in the culture this week in Mumbai. I don’t stay in my room and order room service. I go out and seek the world. I love people, culture and traditions. You are going to catch me on these streets."
8. Party with Bollywood

As per reports in The Times of India, Karan Johar will be hosting a party for Katy which will be attended by many celebrities namely Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Malaika Arora among many others. Talking about the same, Katy said at the event, "I am going to a fun party. Going to meet some Bollywood people and hear some incredible bands. It has been a long time since I have been here."

Katy further shared, "When I was here for IPL (in 2012), I was just in-and-out, so I didn’t get to immerse myself, but this time it’s all about immersing and educating myself. I am excited to meet anyone who is interesting and has a great perspective, care, kindness and empathy for the world. That’s the kind of people I want to hang out with. I am sure Jacqueline is going to take me shopping and eating."
10. On work-life balance

Katy concluded by saying, "For me, after doing 11-12 years of music, four records and four world tours, I have to strike a work-life balance. I am dreaming up new dreams and enjoying living after making a living. I don’t want to always be stressing out. I want to have moments with my family. I want to go and see the world. I want to take trips. When I am in Mumbai, I want to eat, and I want to taste all of it. It is not a matter of slowing down but a matter of trying to consciously be more present where I am."
