The 64th National Film Awards, the most prestigious awards ceremony for achievement in film in India, took place yesterday on May 3, 2017. The ceremony saw many distinguished personalities in film receive awards from the President of India, Honourable Dr. Pranab Mukherjee. Some of the recipients of awards were K. Vishwanath, Rajesh Mapuskar, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Surabhi Lakshmi, Zaira Wasim, Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor.
Kumar was presented with the 'Best Actor' award for his performances in Rustom.
