Malayalam actor-producer Fahadh Faasil is celebrating his birthday today and he has turned 38. The very talented actor has created a name for himself and is loved not only by people from Kerala but across the country. His films are content-driven and he is one of the pioneers of 'New Wave of Malayalam Cinema'. Fahadh made his debut in 2002 and then took a seven-year break. He returned in 2009 with the film Kerala Cafe which is an anthology.

In his career span of more than a decade, Fahadh has starred in numerous hit films and every character is poles apart from each other. Moreover, he worked with not only leading filmmakers in Malayalam cinema but also starred in the directorial debut of many. The then newcomers include Sameer Thahir, Rajeev Ravi, Anil Radhakrishnan Menon, Dileesh Pothan, Mahesh Narayan, Madhu C. Narayanan and Vineeth Kumar.

Ayal Njanalla is a romantic comedy film with which actor Vineeth Kumar made his directorial debut. In the film, Fahadh is seen playing the role of a man Prakashan who is mistaken as the actor himself. The film starred Mrudula Murali as the female lead and released in 2015.

Sameer Thahir forayed into direction with this thriller flick Chaappa Kurish released in 2011 and also had Vineeth Sreenivasan, Roma Asrani, Remya Nambeesan and Nivetha Thomas in the lead roles. In the film, Fahadh is blackmailed by Vineeth's character after he gets his hands on the former's cell phone.

4. 'Kumbalangi Nights'

Kumbalangi Nights is amongst the first Malayalam hits of 2019 in which Madhu C. Narayanan made his debut as the director. The film is co-produced by Fahadh and he played the main antagonist Shammi too. Apart from him, Kumbalangi Nights had an ensemble cast including Shane Nigam, Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Anna Ben and Mathew Thomas.

5. 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram'

In 2016, Dileesh Pothan made his directorial debut with this hit film Maheshinte Prathikaaram which had Fahadh in the titular role. The comedy-drama film also has Anusree, Alencier Ley Lopez, Aparna Balamurali and Soubin Shahir in pivotal roles. The National Award-winning film is based on an incident in the life of Thampan Purushan.

6. 'North 24 Kaatham'

North 24 Kaatham is a feel-good film directed by then debutant Anil Radhakrishnan Menon and released in the year 2013. Along with Fahadh, who played the role of a man with OCD, the road film also starred Nedumudi Venu and Swathi Reddy in the lead roles. It went on to win National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam.

7. 'Take Off'

Based on the ordeal of Indian nurses in the city of Tikrit, Iraq in 2014, Take Off released in 2017 was helmed by editor turned director Mahesh Narayan. The film had Fahadh as Indian Ambassador to Iraq along with Parvathy Thiruvothu who is one of the nurses stranded in Iraq and Kunchacko Boban as her husband.
