Who has the time, really? I have a son to take care of alongside all the business ventures. Plus, I have my endorsements. I don’t have the time to act. It’ll have to wait another year or so...

You have ventured into so many business ventures. How do you manage?

Oh it's easy (laughs). I can choose my working hours because I have that privilege though I know that there are many women out there who don’t have that choice and yet they do a swell job at managing their homes and work. I like devoting time to my son Viaan, I like to do everything for him myself. I have hired a wonderful team of people who help with the businesses so I can strike a balance between work and home.

You have turned into a designer with SSK Sarees. What was that like?

It wasn’t the hardest job because I am very creative and I have designed my own clothes in the past. Be it in films or for events, I like putting together outfits. I understand fabrics and colours. I am not very good at was illustration and so, I hired people to do that for me.

You ventured into production with Dhishkiyaaon which tanked at the box office. Any lessons learnt?

Well, I certainly realised that I should make something more entertaining. Hiring stars can get the ball rolling for my film, but for me, the script should be the star in the film.

What next?

I have been writing this book on nutrition and health for almost an year now. I have always felt strongly about good health. Through the nutritionist I got on board to co-write with me, I got to know so many technicalities about good eating habits and fitness that even I was unaware of. The 17th draft of the book is ready (laughs).
