Model and actress Lisa Haydon shares her beauty secrets.
What’s in your make-up bag?
Clinique compact and mascara, Chanel perfection lumière foundation, blush and Shiseido make-up brushes.
What’s your skincare routine?
Cleanse and moisturise. I don’t tone because I have naturally dry facial skin.
What’s your go-to beauty look for a red carpet event?
My make-up is always minimal and natural. I look better with little to no make-up on.
What do you think is sexy, beauty-wise?
Glowing dewy skin and sparkly eyes.
Who were your idols growing up?
Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Julia Roberts. I’ve also had a fetish for old Hollywood movies.
What are some tips you’ve taken from beauty artists and use daily?
To put only under eye foundation because the rest of my face doesn’t need it.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve tried in the name of beauty?
When I was about 14, I read somewhere that eggs were good for hair so I went home and put whipped raw eggs in my hair. They made my hair stink.
What product do you turn to for a beauty boost?
Kiehl’s night recovery oil.
What is your monsoon must-have beauty product?
A GHD hair iron to battle the frizziness.
Do you have a signature fragrance?
I used to swear by Nina Ricci Premier Jour but I’ve recently started loving Viktor & Rolf flower bomb and Burberry’s Body.
My fave lipwear, mascara, and compact and foundation ...
I love YSL lip gloss, Clinique compact and Chanel foundation.
Do you gravitate toward a lip colour and if so, which shade?
Corals and floral pinks.
Do you switch up your make-up based on your hair colour?
I’ve never coloured my hair.
What’s your favourite beauty moment?
My early morning moments or after I’ve exercised I look my best.
Do you think it’s important to stick with a signature look?
It’s up to you. I like to experiment with clothes but not as much with cosmetics. I do enough of that while at work.
Have you ever had any beauty disasters?
I don’t like it when the hair dresser chops my hair off too much or gets all experimental with layers.
What’s your ultimate beauty tip?
Know what suits you best.
What’s the best beauty advice you’ve ever received?
Not to be too finicky about the hair at the end of my eyebrows. What goes up, needn’t always come down or come down all the way.
One beauty elixir you can’t live without.
Sanjeevani beauty elixir balm from Forest Essentials.
My secret beauty trick
Less is more.
