West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has decided to postpone WBPSC written exams till July 30 in view of the COVID-19 situation in the country. Candidates can check details on the official website, wbpsc.gov.in. WBPSC written examinations were earlier scheduled to be conducted by July 30.

The commission is yet to announce the fresh dates for WBPSC exams.

"In terms of State Government order no 753/III-ISS/2M-22/2020 dated 14-07-21 it is hereby notified that all Written Examinations scheduled to be taken by the Commission up to 30-07-2021 are postponed to prevent the possibility of any further spread of the pandemic. Fresh dates for the postponed examinations would be announced in due course. Candidates are advised to visit https://wbpsc.gov.in from time to time for updates," WBPSC notice reads.

The West Bengal government on Wednesday announced an extension to the lockdown imposed in the state till July 30 and issued fresh COVID-19 guidelines.

The government has allowed the Kolkata Metro to operate with 50% capacity on weekdays. The operations will remain suspended on Saturdays and Sundays. On the other hand, the local train services will continue to remain suspended with the exception of staff special trains.

There has been no change to the timings of shops and markets. As per the order, vegetable markets can remain open from 6 am till noon, while gyms and salons have been allowed to open with 50% strength from 11 am to 6 pm.
