The registration process for the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2022 has begun
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) registration process for Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination-2022 has begun. The official notification for the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist exam 2022 was released on September 22. Interested candidates can apply UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist prelims exam through the official website, upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in. The last date to apply is October 12, 2021 upto 6.00 PM. As per the notification, the online applications can be withdrawn from October 20 to 26 upto 6.00 PM.
The UPSC prelims examination will be conducted on 20 February 2022.
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must be the minimum age of 21 years and maximum age of 32 years as of 1 January 2022.
Application Fees: Applicants will have to pay Rs 200, female/SC/ST/candidates with Benchmark Disability are exempted from payment of a fee.
Selection Process: Selection is on the basis of scores obtained by them in Prelims, Mains and Personality Test or Interview.
The categories of posts to which recruitment is to be made on the results of this examination and the approximate number of vacancies in the various posts are given below:-
Category-I: (Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines)
(i) Geologist, Group A: 100
(ii) Geophysicist, Group A: 50
(iii) Chemist. Group A: 20
Category-II: (Posts in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.)
(i) Scientist ‘B’ (Hydrogeology), Group ‘A’: 20
(ii) Scientist ‘B’ (Chemical) Group ‘A’: 01
(iii) Scientist ‘B’ (Geophysics) Group ‘A’: 01
