Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services preliminary examination will be held on October 10. The commission has recently added four centres at Almora, Uttarakhand, Srinagar, Uttarakhand,  Nasik, Maharashtra and Surat, Gujarat for the civil services (preliminary) examination, 2021. The good news for UPSC Civil Services 2021 applicants is that they can change their centre of examination. The Union Public Service Commission has announced that applicants can change their centre for civil services/IFS prelims exams 2021 which the application window will open from July 12, 2021, and conclude on July 19, 2021.

"The Commission has now decided to give an opportunity to the applicants of these two examinations to submit their revised choice of Centre. The requests of the candidates for change in their Centres will be considered against the capacity intimated by the Centres for accommodating the candidates," the UPSC has said.

The window for the application of change of centre will be operational in two phases. 12th-19th July 2021 (06.00 PM) and 26th-30th July 2021 (06.00 PM) on the Commission’s website upsconline.nic.in.

"The candidates are advised to visit the website and submit their choices of Centres of the above examination if required," candidates have been informed.

The allotment of the centres will be based on a first come first basis and once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the centre will be frozen and will not be visible on the official site. The candidate will then be required to choose a Centre from the remaining ones.

The preliminary phase of both the exams were earlier scheduled in June and were postponed later due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
