Gujarat Schools to reopen for classes 9 to 11 soon. The offline classes will resume from July 26, 2021. As per the orders issued by the state government, schools have been allowed to reopen only at 50% capacity for physical classes to take place.

As per the official orders, attendance will not be compulsory for students. Students who are willing to attend physical classes can come to schools for classes. Students are required to have a proper consent form of their parents. This is to make sure that the students are coming by their and their parents’ willingness and agreement and not by coming under any undue pressure.

As quoted by TOI, Education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma said, “We will discuss and take a decision on the opening of schools for classes 9 to 11 at the cabinet meeting scheduled on Thursday. A decision on starting schools for classes to 8 will be taken by the core committee which will meet shortly.”

On Thursday according to the health department bulletin, Gujarat reported 34 new COVID-19 cases the total number of active cases to 370. No death has been recorded in the last 24 hours, while 53 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day.

The Gujarat government declared the extension of the night curfew in eight cities by twelve more days on July 16. The night curfew will remain to continue in cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar, and Junagadh from 10 pm to 6 am, till the morning of August 1.

According to earlier agency reports, the state government allowed reopening of water parks and swimming pools at sixty per cent capacity from July 20 provided their staff had received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination by July 31. "Owners, managers, and staff of water parks will have to get inoculated with the first dose by July 31," an official said.
