In the wake of the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher or REET 2021, which is scheduled to be held today, September 26, 2021, the Ajmer district administration has suspended mobile internet, SMS and MMS services for 12 hours from 6 am. After Ajmer, the services were also suspended in Alwar, Dausa, Jhunjhunu and Jaipur rural districts too, news agency ANI reported.

“Mobile internet services, bulk SMS/MMS and other social media by Internet Service Providers (except for voice call of landline, mobile phone, and landline broadband) to be suspended in Ajmer district from 6 am to 6 pm on September 26 in the wake of REET exam,” a government order read.

The news agency in another tweet added, "Mobile internet services, bulk SMS/MMS and other social media by Internet Service Providers (except for voice call of landline, mobiles and landline broadband) to be temporarily suspended in Alwar, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Jaipur rural districts from 6am-6pm on September 26 due to REET exam."

Today, the REET will be held across 4,000 centres in Rajasthan for the admission of 31,000 teachers. More than 16 lakh candidates will appear for the examination, which is being conducted after nearly three years in the state. 

REET will be conducted at 4,153 examination centres set up at 200 places as in Jaipur alone, over 2.5 lakh candidates are set to appear for the examination at 592 centres.
