The PCMC’s education board had prepared a draft budget for 2012-13 with an outlay of Rs132.77 crore, but municipal commissioner Ashish Sharma reduced the outlay to Rs99.70 crore.

The standing committee of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has approved a draft budget of Rs99.70 crore for the municipal school board for 2012-13 in a meeting on Tuesday. The PCMC’s education board had prepared a draft budget for 2012-13 with an outlay of Rs132.77 crore, but municipal commissioner Ashish Sharma reduced the outlay to Rs99.70 crore.
The draft budget approved by the standing committee has a provision of Rs64.86 crore for permanent employee expenditure, Rs15 crore for pension and gratuity expenditure, Rs15.30 crore for school expenditure and Rs2.57 crore for running balwadis. The education board had approved the revised budget for 2011-12 with an outlay of Rs98.14 crore which was reduced by Sharma to Rs95.84 crore. This was also approved by the standing committee.
The standing committee chief, Suman Pawale, told mediapersons that the committee has also given a nod for the tree authority draft budget for 2012-13 with an outlay of Rs9.48 crore and the revised budget of 2011-12 with the same outlay.
The tree authority of PCMC expects to earn Rs2.75 crore from tree tax, Rs60 lakh from bank interest and Rs6.04 crore from the civic revenue in 2012-13.
The expenditure expected on administration is Rs2.5 crore, bonus or dearness allowance is Rs20 lakh, fuel expenditure is Rs10 lakh, exhibition of fruits and flowers Rs10 lakh and tree transplantation Rs40 lakh in the next fiscal.
