It is expected that the improvement in the COVID-19 situation will allow the National Testing Agency to soon announce the entrance exam dates.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is soon going to conduct entrance examinations for admission to engineering and medical courses. According to sources, the remaining two sessions of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2021 exam could be held in July and August, while the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate)(NEET) 2021 exam could be held in the month of September.
It is to be noted that since JEE Main and NEET exams are held for admission in graduate courses, it is possible that JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021 entrance exams would be held after the declaration of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results and the results of intermediate exams of other state boards. Notably, CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The CBSE has now opted for a different marking system to finalise the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results. It is learnt that the CBSE will declare the Class 12 results on July 31.
The NTA had postponed the exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now preparations are being made to conduct the examinations amid the unlock process in most states. Two sessions of the JEE Main were held in February and March sessions, while the April and May sessions are yet to take place. The exam date and admit card will be communicated 15 days before the start of the examination. While the NEET exam is scheduled to be held in August, application forms are yet to be released.
NTA will update any official information on its official website nta.ac.in. New exam dates will be updated in the latest exam section on the website. In addition, the notification for JEE Main exam will be issued on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in while the application form for the NEET 2021 exam will be released on the newly launched official website neet.nta.nic.in.
