NTA NEET 2021 entrance exam result date, time: BIG updates students need to know

Lakhs of students across the country are waiting eagerly for the release of NEET 2021 entrance exam result and it is expected that the National Testing Agency (NTA) would soon announce the NEET 2021 results at neet.nta.nic.in. Around 16 lakh candidates had appeared for NEET 2021 entrance exam which was held on September 12.

It may be recalled that the NEET entrance exam was held on September 12 in 2020 and the result was announced on October 16. Going by the previous trends, it is expected that the NTA would announce the NEET 2021 results by the second week of October. 

After the declaration of NEET 2021 entrance exam results, the NTA will announce the schedule for NEET counselling 2021. On behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) will conduct online counselling for NEET qualified candidates for All India Quota (AIQ), Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and Deemed/Central Universities seats.

Tie-breaking formula

If two candidates score the same marks, a tie-breaker formula will be used by NTA to calculate their marks. A candidate who has got higher marks in Biology will get preference in ranking. If the tie still exists, the marks of candidates in chemistry will get preference. If the tie still persists, the candidates with fewer incorrect answers in all papers will be ranked higher.
