Schools in Haryana opened for students of classes 3 to 5 opened on Wednesday amid strict COVID-19 guidelines.

The state government had earlier announced that regular classes for Class 3 to 5 students would be held only for three hours daily from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM amid strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines and SOPs.

As per an order issued by the Department of School Education on Monday, online classes for the students will continue along with regular classes. Students who wish to continue their studies through the online mode, as has been imparted to them during the past 10 months, can avail of this facility as before.

All schools are required to ensure that students attending the classes undergo thermal scans. Students have to submit written consent from their parents allowing them to attend classes in the offline mode. They also have to wear facemasks and ensure social distancing on campus.

The department issued orders for the reopening of government and private primary schools in the state after they were closed for almost a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Haryana schools reopened for higher classes in December last year while students of Classes 6 to 8 were allowed to attend from February 1 this year.
