The recruitment exam for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) CSE is the toughest in the entire world. Clearing the UPSC CS exam takes single-minded studying and a lot of hard work. Those who are able to crack the three-layered civil services exam are appointed to the posts of IAS, IPS, and IFS officers.

People take years to crack the prestigious exam. It is often said that persistence is the key to success in the civil services exam. One such example is IAS Anshul Kumar.  A native of Kanpur, UP, IAS officer Anshul Kumar was initially pushed into the path of civil services by his father, who was a farmer. 

Going back to his education, Anshul Kumar is a BTech graduate. He studied engineering at the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) from the electrical branch.  After graduation, he wanted to secure a government job, preferably civil services, however, he cracked the SSC exam and secured the post of Excise Inspector in 2014. 

Even though he had a job at hand, he did not give up and kept preparing for the UPSC CSE. In 2015 he appeared for the exam and cracked the exam and became an IAS officer with All India Rank (AIR) 293.

It was in the same year that he also secured a place at the Indian Forest Services. Currently, IAS officer Anshul Kumar is serving as the District Magistrate of Banka, Bihar. 

Interestingly, IAS officer Anshul Kumar cracked the UPSC CS exam in the same year as popular IAS officer Tina Dabi, who held the post of District Collector and Magistrate, Jaisalmer. She is currently on maternity leave.
