As students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) eagerly wait for the date sheet of the CBSE Board Exams 2021, certain news reports taking the rounds on social media have added to their confusion.

A recent report suggested that those students of classes 10 and 12 who failed the pre-board exams conducted by their schools would not get the admit cards for their Board exams. The report widely shared on social media also claimed that the schools would conduct pre-board exams twice and the students needed to clear them or they would be denied their admit cards.

The students and their parents should note that the admit cards of the students cannot be withheld for such a reason. Even the Press Information Bureau (PIB) came out to debunk the news report and suggested that the CBSE did not make any such announcement.

The PIB put it across that the report that said that those who failed to clear pre-boards would not get their CBSE Board admit cards was fake.

It is reported that the CBSE has at many times warned the schools and asked them not to withhold admit cards from students of classes 10 and 12 on any reason including poor performance in the pre-boards.

"In no case, the heads of affiliated schools shall detain eligible candidates from appearing at the examination. The practice has been viewed very seriously by the board and is violative of the bye-laws," stated CBSE, while referring to the Rule 15 of the Examination Bye-laws.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had announced last month that the central board would conduct the Board Exams 2021 for classes 10 and 12. The exams will take place between May 4 and June 1 but the datasheet for the same has not been released by the CBSE yet.
