EDUCATION
The notice which states that the Delhi University will reopen from September 20 has been deemed fake by the varsity.
As colleges and schools across the country are reopening for offline lessons for students in senior classes, a notice regarding the reopening of Delhi University was also doing rounds on social media, stating that the varsity and its affiliated colleges are reopening from September 20.
The administration of Delhi University has come out to dismiss this notice, stating that it is fake, and students should not believe the claims of said notice. The notice, which has the signature and logo of Delhi University, states that the offline classes for second and third-year students will resume from September 20, while Arts and Commerce students will have to wait a while.
Students of Delhi University must note that this notice has not been issued by the administration of the varsity, and no decision regarding the reopening of colleges has been taken by DU yet. Any such decision will be communicated to the students through the official website or social media handles of the varsity.

The fake notice, which was being circulated on social media, can easily be mistaken for a real one because of its formal language and all the credentials of the university present on it. The notice also states that all affiliated colleges will resume offline colleges with certain COVID norms in place.
This is not the first time that a fake notice has been issued regarding the reopening of colleges in Delhi University, though the varsity has always been quick to dismiss any such claims. No official news regarding the resumption of offline classes has been taken by DU yet.
Students from Delhi University are currently pushing the administration to reopen the affiliated colleges and resume offline classes for all courses, as online classes have not been very accessible and students from weaker sections of society have been struggling to maintain regular attendance in online lessons, leading to them missing out on core concepts.
The Delhi government has reopened the schools, colleges, and coaching institutes in the national capital from September 1, as the number of COVID-19 cases has significantly decreased. Offline classes have resumes across several educational institutes though attendance of students has not been made mandatory for now.
