Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a big announcement for the children who lost both their parents due to Covid-19. While addressing a press conference today, Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government will bear the expenses of education and upbringing of children who have lost both their parents due to Corona.

 

“I understand the pain of the children who lost their parents to Covid-19. We won’t let their education stop, the government will look after the education and will bear all the expenses for the upbringing of those children.” The Chief Minister said.

 

This week Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have also announced to provide free education and financial assistance to children orphaned due to Covid-19. 

 

In the past 24 hours, Delhi recorded 8,500 fresh COVID-19 cases, the first time the figure has dipped below 10,000 since April 10. The city's test positivity rate has also dipped to 12 percent, he said during a digital press conference.


Around 3,000 beds have cleared up in the past 10 days, he said, indicating that the second wave was easing in the city. “The battle still continues, we are working toward COVID-19 cases to wipe out complete. Any leniency would lead to a disaster. so everyone should keep following the rules of the lockdown strictly,” he said.

 

India recorded 343,288 fresh COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the caseload tally to 24,046,120. Deaths from the virus surged by 3,999 to hit 262,350 in total.
