Common Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by the Central Board of Education (CBSE) is going to happen today. Candidates appearing for the CTET test are requested to read all the necessary instructions given on the website as well as on the admit card.

CTET 2019 will be held in 110 cities all across the country today. Over 28 lakh candidates will appear for the CTET December exam this year.

The admit card was released by the board on 20th November on the official website ctet.nic.in.

The examination will be conducted for two papers.

The duration of both the papers will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Paper 1 will be for candidates who intend to teach from class 1 to class 5.

Paper 2 will be for candidates who intend to teach from class 5 to class 8.

Paper I will be conducted in the morning session from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon, and Paper-II will be conducted in the afternoon session from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Both papers will be objective in nature and will be conducted in OMR-based mode.

Candidates who report at the examination center after 9:30 AM will not be allowed to sit in Paper-I and candidate report after 2:00 PM will not be allowed to sit in Paper-II.

Passing CTET is one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII in different government schools. Some private schools also choose to make CTET qualification a requirement for their teachers.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the CTET to the CBSE.

The test is held twice a year. Earlier in July, over 20 lakh candidates appeared for the CBSE CTET 2019 exam which was held in nearly 100 cities across the country.

Schedule of examination:

PAPER -I: 09.30 AM TO 12.00 NOON on December 8, 2019

PAPER-II: 02.00 PM TO 04.30 PM on December 8, 2019
